Can I sign up for a Sim Only subscription that can be cancelled on a monthly basis?

Yes, you can opt for a monthly subscription ! Click on ‘duration’ when placing your order. Do note that a yearly subscription will cost you less. Did you know that after one year, your yearly subscription will automatically switch to a monthly subscription? You will pay the affordable rates of the yearly subscription, but you can cancel anytime you want. Isn’t that a win-win?

Does Simyo offer number portability with a new subscription?

We understand that you prefer to keep your current number. At Simyo, we are happy to arrange just that, free of charge. Once the request for number portability is approved, your connection with your previous provider will automatically be terminated.

Can I get unlimited calls with my Sim Only subscription?

Yes, that's possible! During your Sim Only order, choose the Unlimited calling bundle . You'll be able to call and text away! Do you already have a Sim Only subscription with a different call bundle and would you like to switch to unlimited calls? That's no problem either. You can just log in to My Simyo and change your call bundle. Starting from the first of the following month, you can then also make unlimited calls.

Out-of-bundle costs

At Simyo, you pay € 0.31 cents per minute or SMS when you have run out of minutes and therefore call outside your bundle. If you don't have an internet bundle or have you used up your data, you pay € 0.15 per MB. If your internet bundle runs out, you can buy additional MBs of data in My Simyo. 500 MB will cost € 5.

Terms and condtitions

Bundle adjustments

  • You can switch to a higher or lower priced bundle on a monthly basis. You will switch to the bundles and rates that are applicable at that moment.
  • If you switch to a different type of subscription, you will receive any discount associated with the new type of subscription that you’re switching to. The discount applied to your current subscription will expire.

Bundle usage

  • Calls within the Netherlands to mobile and landline numbers,voicemail, and text messages are included in the bundle.
  • At Simyo, each call is rounded up per whole minute.
  • Texts are billed per message of max. 160 characters.
  • It is not possible to carry over excess bundle credit to the next month.
  • You pay € 0.31 per minute/sms outside of your bundle.
  • Different rates apply for usage abroad, to non-Dutch numbers and for calls to service numbers.
  • Your connection will be blocked if our system detects that you have used more than € 100 per 24 hours or exceed usage outside of your bundle of more than €250 per week. This is to avoid unexpectedly high charges. You can reactivate your connection by making an interim payment. There is a delay in processing usage of up to 4 hours in the Netherlands and up to 36 hours abroad . Therefore, we cannot guarantee that your connection will be blocked exactly at the time of the above-mentioned limits (€ 100 or € 250). However, you do owe Simyo the costs incurred above these limits.

Benefit bundles

  • Voordeelbundels, such as data bundles and text bundles, can be adjusted and cancelled on a monthly basis.
  • The Text Unlimited bundle only applies to sending texts within the Netherlands to Dutch phone numbers and landlines.
  • You can buy additional MBs, if you have an internet bundle. Top-up MBs are valid until the end of the month. Internet without a bundle, or outside of your bundle, will cost € 0.15 per MB and is charged per kilobyte.

Other

  • Early termination of an annual contract is subject to a buyout. This means that the cost of the bundle as concluded in the annual subscription, times the remaining months will be charged after the termination.

Placing an order with a foreign bank account number

Contract duration & cancellation period

There are three possible minimum contract durations for Simyo subscriptions: 1 month, 1 year and 2 years. For a subscription with a phone, the minimum contract period is 2 years. After the minimum contract period, your subscription will automatically renew for 1 month on a monthly basis. After the minimum contract period, you can also renew your subscription with the currently available bundles and tariffs and adjust the duration.

Interim cancellation:

Your contract will last at least 12 months after your SIM card is activated. After that, your subscription is automatically converted to an indefinite subscription. You will be able to cancel your subscription on a monthly basis.

If you cancel your subscription before your contract expires, (e.g. in case of an annual contract, after 8 months) we will charge a buyout fee.

Cancelling:

You may cancel your order for 14 days after receiving your SIM card. This cancellation period of 14 days starts after you have activated your SIM card. The following costs will be charged with a cancellation, if applicable:

  • The connection fee
  • The subscription costs for the period the subscription was used
  • The usage costs

What is Sim Only?

Sim Only, you could say it’s in the name. With Sim Only, you just get a SIM . If you still have a phone that works well for you, this is the right subscription for you. That way, you can keep your monthly costs low, especially compared to the classic Prepaid plan. As you’re not paying off a phone, this subscription is not seen as a loan by the Rijksoverheid (the Dutch government), which is a nice addition.

Do you still have a reliable phone? Go for Simyo Sim Only and you get a reliable network as well. By choosing Simyo, you get to use KPN's network for your calls and data.

How fast is my internet at Simyo?

You can download at up to 256 Mbps, and upload speed is up to 150 Mbps. The speeds depend on your device, coverage in the area , and traffic on the network. Is your phone not ready for 4G? Then you will automatically use 2G.

What is the difference between Sim Only and prepaid?

With a Prepaid , you can buy call credit in advance. For example, if you buy € 20,- of call credit, you can call, text and use data until it’s all used up, which can be beneficial if you don’t regularly use your mobile phone.

Sim Only is a mobile phone subscription. You choose your call bundle and can additionally choose a data bundle that suits you best. Every first day of the month, your bundle will be completely recharged. You pay a fixed, monthly amount for the bundles that you’ve selected.

Can I set up a family subscription?

Simyo is perfect for families! With Discount for two , you can order a Sim Only subscription for a family member directly in the My Simyo app, for your child, for example. After you placed your order, you manage the number, invoices, usage, and more. To top it all off: you both get a € 10,- discount! Do you already have multiple Simyo phone numbers within your family? If you want, you can manage these in the My Simyo app. This will give you a good overview of how your family members are using their bundles. We have a number of great tips for families.

Can I use my Sim Only subscription abroad?

Yes, it’s possible to use your Sim Only subscription anywhere abroad. Thanks to roaming . Once you leave the Dutch border, you will make use of a different network. As long as you’re within zone 1 (EU and exceptions), you won’t pay any extra fees. You’ll be able to use your Simyo SIM just as if you were in the Netherlands. Are you travelling outside of zone 1? What is eSIM at Simyo?

eSIM is a digital SIM card. You won’t need that little plastic card to call, sms or use your data. Isn’t that nice? An eSIM functions the same way as a plastic SIM, but it’s already built into your phone. If your phone supports eSIM, you can use this function.

Can I get a Sim Only call-only bundle at Simyo?

Would you prefer to have call-only Sim Only , without any data? It’s possible! At Simyo, the call bundle forms the basis of the Sim Only subscription. That way, everyone will have a call bundle. If you also want to get data, you can get a data bundle on top of your call bundle. Prefer not to have a data bundle? Then you can opt for a call only Sim Only.

Does Simyo use the 3G-network?

We have stopped using the 3G network. All Simyo customers can use the internet via the 4G network and or call via the 2G network. From 2025 on, we will also discontinue the 2G network. Afterall, the 4G network has proved to be faster, safer and more stable. Your Simyo SIM card will support 4G as long as your phone is 4G-ready . Want to read more about it?
